Apparel Review: Urbane Excel Shoe

My soul is happy for these soles!

Urbane’s Excel shoe has completely changed the scrub shoe game.

I personally am an anti-clog shoe gal. If you like clogs with scrubs, to each her (or his) own, but these are aesthetically and athletically awesome without compromising STYLE.

I’m an occupational therapist working in the inpatient hospital setting on my feet all day long.

I work primarily with elder adults who almost all would benefit from making the change to non-skid, no tie shoes…can you say “fall prevention – safety” and “compensatory strategy to reduce range of motion / functional reach needed to tie shoes”???

I would not only recommend these to my coworkers (and honestly already have), but I 100% would recommend these to some of my sweet older female patients because they offer a fashionable way to reduce their risk for falls (nonslip), that offer good support without being ridiculously difficult to put on.

  • Multi-pattern knit; leather suede design

  • Non skid, slip resistant rubber sole

  • Shock-absorbant

  • Arch support

  • Bungee toggle laces to maximize fit

  • Elastic closure = no need to tie laces

  • Breathable, lightweight, (honestly I really feel like I can just bounce around the hospital they are that light…)

  • 100% washable – literally throw them into the washer and they come out just fine! (#easywearandcare)

  • Comfort level = 10/10

  • Style – fashionable, pretty pattern, options for “loud, fun” colors or classic black

  • I like them so much that I want to get the all black pair because they feel that great throughout the duration of the day.
  • In my opinion they run slightly large, but this is more because personally I am in between European sizes. I really cannot say enough about the comfort from the shoes.
  • I have worn a plethora of running shoes in my history as a former collegiate runner, and although these are not meant for running the comfort and support is enough to warrant me wearing these all day at the hospital and then to the gym on the elliptical.
  • So overall these are the I don’t recommend anything to my patients that I wouldn’t recommend for my peers or to my own family and I 10/10 recommend these!!!!

Go from working all day in scrubs and make a quick outfit change to the gym!!

Grateful for a uniform company that is more than scrubs.

With love,
